All meetings will be held at 4:00pm at Vine Cottage, Ship Corner, Blaxhall, unless otherwise stated. All are welcome to attend, but please let Honorary Secretary, Eve Rossor, know in advance for purposes of seating (email everossor@gmail.com).

Work Parties 2025

All are welcome to join our work parties. Do come along for some fresh air, exercise and friendly company, and help us to maintain and improve the environment of our land at Stone Common, Jasper’s Pightle and other open spaces around Blaxhall, for the benefit of wildlife, biodiversity and to enhance public recreational access.

Work this autumn will mainly involve raking cut bracken at Jasper’s Pightle, and at both Jasper’s Pightle and Stone Common clearing bracken from around hedges and paths, mulching hedges, removing redundant wire fencing and cutting up wire for safe recycling.

Work party dates this autumn are as follows:

• Sunday 7 September, 2:00pm — Jasper’s Pightle
• Sunday 21 September, 2:00pm — Stone Common
• Sunday 5 October, 2:00pm — Jasper’s Pightle
• Sunday 19 October, 2:00pm — Stone Common
• Sunday 2 November, 2:00pm — Jasper’s Pightle
• Sunday 16 November, 2:00pm — Stone Common
• Sunday 7 December, 2:00pm — Jasper’s Pightle

Whilst every effort is made to ensure safety and the minimisation of risk, volunteers participate in work parties at their own risk. Email Honorary Secretary, Eve Rossor (everossor@gmail.com) in advance for advice on clothing, tools to bring, etc. Hi-vis vests will be provided if working along or near to roads.

Other Upcoming Events

— An autumn litter pick will be held over the week from Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November 2025 inclusive. Come and help at a time to suit you. Grabbers, bags and hoops, and high-vis vests, can be picked up from outside Vine Cottage, Ship Corner, where there will also be a sign-up sheet indicating roads to be covered.

— Bonfire Party, Saturday 8 November, from 6:30pm at Stone Common. All are welcome to come along and enjoy sparklers, mulled wine, hot sausages and autumnal conviviality. Free ewntry, but cash donations to BCOST’s work very welcome.
